The 2011 Pierre Fauchard Academy (PFA) Annual Awards and Induction Ceremonies will be held on Friday, August 5, from 11:30 to 1:30 pm at the Casino Compass Room in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
This year, PFA Canada is honouring Dr. Mary McNally for Distinguished Service to the profession. Dr. McNally is head of the division of preventive dentistry and oral health promotion at Dalhousie University’s faculty of dentistry. She has served the profession both nationally and provincially, with a primary focus on ethics and the oral health of seniors. Dr. McNally is an associate editor with JCDA.
PFA Canada will also bestow special appreciation awards to Greg Teckles and Stuart Humphries at the Halifax event. Mr. Teckles has been the official photographer at numerous Canadian dental events over the years, while Mr. Humphries has been involved with fundraising activities on behalf of Aurum Ceramic for more than 15 years.
Those planning to attend the PFA event, or wishing to further support this year’s PFA honourees, can send a cheque for $60 per person (payable to Dalhousie University Faculty of Dentistry) by June 30.
