ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

Applications are invited for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position as in the Division of Periodontics, Department of Dental Diagnostic Surgical Sciences at the Dr. Gerald Niznick College of Dentistry, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The appointment will commence on July 1, 2022 or as soon thereafter as possible.

The appointee must have completed full-time university-based Periodontics specialty training and have passed the NDEB/NDSE exam or be eligible to write the NDEB/NDSE (National Dental Specialty Exam) or Fellowship with the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (RCDC) would be an asset. Graduate and/or Undergraduate clinical, and teaching experience in Periodontics is required and experience in Research and Grant application is preferred.  A proven record of scholarly activity and publication would be an asset. A Specialty Master’s degree and/or PhD in Periodontics is preferred. 

This position is in the Department of Dental Diagnostic and Surgical Sciences in the Division of Periodontics. The position includes teaching responsibilities, including didactic, pre-clinical and clinical instruction, in the undergraduate and graduate programs. In addition to teaching, other duties are developing research and related scholarly activities, and service on departmental, college and/or University committees."

Candidates must be eligible for licensure with the Manitoba Dental Association in one of its dental specialist licensing categories (Bylaw for Registration and Licensure of Dentists www.manitobadentist.ca.  Extramural practice privilege is available one day per week upon application and signing of a Private Practice Agreement.
