The University of Saskatchewan, College of Dentistry invites applications from qualified individuals for a Without Term faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor.  Applicants will have the ability to engage in private practice for one (1) day per week.

This role involves clinical teaching and administrative work.  The primary responsibilities of this position are in three areas:  1) Support the Group Practice Leader (GPL) model  as a senior dentist/mentor to a small group of undergraduate dental students to ensure high quality patient care and student learning experience; 2) Participate in the administration of, and provide student support for, the International Dental Degree Program (IDDP); and 3) Lead the College Continuing Professional Education program. The position will collaborate/work closely with the Associate Dean, Academic, Assistant Dean, Clinics, other Group Practice Leaders, dental specialists and clinical staff. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the administration of the IDDP program, and reestablishing and delivering the College’s Continuing Professional Education program.

Job responsibilities within the aforementioned three areas include, but are not limited to: overseeing the quality of students’ efforts; ensuring a high standard of comprehensive patient care; modelling/promoting a supportive and positive clinical environment; monitoring the clinical progression of DMD students; ensuring DMD students receive the required range of clinical experience through the program; ensuring students attain competency prior to graduation; and the delivery of all aspects related to the International Dental Degree Program and Continuing Professional Education program.

Candidates must have successfully completed their National Dental Examining Board of Canada examinations and be licensed or eligible for licensure by the College of Dental Surgeons of Saskatchewan.  Preference will be given to candidates who have experience/are familiar with the International Dental Degree Program and with administering/managing a Continuing Professional Education program.

Salary bands for this position are as follows: Assistant Professor: $98,178 - $117,978; Associate Professor: $117,978 - $137,778.  Independent of rank, a starting salary above the standard salary bands is possible in rare and exceptional circumstances pursuant to Article of the 2017-2022 USFA Collective Agreement This position includes a comprehensive benefits package which includes a pension plan, dental, health and extended vision care plan, life insurance (compulsory and voluntary), academic long term-disability, sick leave, travel insurance, death benefits, an employee assistance program, a professional expense allowance, and a flexible health and wellness spending program.
