Colonel James Taylor of Ottawa was appointed by Her Majesty the Queen as Honorary Dental Surgeon to the Queen. He was also appointed as Canadian Forces Director of Dental Services by the Canadian Forces Surgeon General. This latter role entails serving as the dental clinical policy and technical authority to the Minister of National Defence in all matters related to the oral health of the Canadian Forces.
Dr. Taylor earned his DMD from the University of British Columbia. He obtained a postgraduate degree in prosthodontics at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and completed his MA at Royal Roads University in Victoria, B.C. Colonel Taylor is a past president of the Association of Prosthodontists of Canada and a past chair of CDA's Committee on Specialist Affairs. He has also served as assistant professor of prosthodontics at Dalhousie University and is currently a director of the Academy of Osseointegration and an officer of the Academy of Prosthodontics.
He maintains a part-time clinical prosthodontic practice at the National Defence Medical Centre Clinic in Ottawa.
