A new oral health research centre will be opened in Vietnam, as part of a partnership between the faculty of dentistry at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and the National Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology in Ho Chi Minh City. The UBC Dentistry-Vietnam Oral Health Research Centre is being developed through an in-kind gift of $8 million to UBC from the hospital.
The 1,200 square metre facility will be a centre for education, research and knowledge transfer in Southeast Asia, with a research focus on oral cancer, dental caries and craniofacial birth defects.
Read UBC’s press release for more information on the partnership and the university’s collaborations in Vietnam.
