The Canadian section of the Pierre Fauchard Academy (PFA) held its awards gala in Montreal, during the Journées dentaires internationales du Québec (JDIQ) on May 30, 2010.
Among the highlights of the evening, PFA Canada formally announced the distribution of almost $80,000 to the 10 Canadian dental faculties, as it dispersed funds from PFA Canada's Dentistry Canada Fund holdings. PFA Canada continued its support for dental students by presenting scholarships to the participants of the 2010 CDA/Denstply Student Clinician Research Program.
Many Canadian dentists were officially installed as new PFA Fellows, including Dr. Benoit Soucy, CDA's director of clinical and scientific affairs.

Dr. Paul Germain (2nd from right) of Verdun, Quebec, was honoured with the 2010 PFA Canadian Distinguished Service Award.
Maître Caroline Daoust, executive director and secretary of the Order of Quebec Dentists, was presented with Honourary Fellowship in the Academy.
