This year’s winners of the Canadian Association for Dental Research (CADR) Student Research Awards Competition have been announced.
The winners, as selected by a panel of Canadian dental researchers, for each of the 3 competition categories are:
- Junior Category – First place: Daniel Salah, McGill University
- Senior Category, Basic Science – First place: Sara Farahabadi, University of British Columbia
- Senior Category, Clinical Research – First place: Ka Khady, McGill University
To enter the competition, student and postdoctoral researchers in dental and oral health submitted a manuscript that had not been published or previously presented at a major scientific meeting. Mr. Salah and Dr. Farahabadi, as 2 of the most highly ranked applicants, also received the International Association for Dental Research (IADR)/Unilever Divisional Award and will represent Canada in the Hatton Awards Competition at the IADR meeting to be held in Seattle, Washington, in March.
The CADR Student Research Awards are sponsored by CADR and Henry Schein Canada. Winners will be presented with their awards at the annual meeting of the CADR, which will be held in conjunction with the IADR meeting.
