Dr. Debora Matthews, professor and chair of the department of dental clinical sciences at Dalhousie University and president of the Canadian Association for Dental Research, has been named to the Institute Advisory Board for the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) - Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis (IMHA). The Institute Advisory Board acts in an advisory capacity to IMHA's scientific director and the CIHR Governing Council, including evaluating health research priorities and strategies for engaging the broader research community.
Members of CIHR's 13 Institute Advisory Boards—one for each of its institutes—represent the public, private and non-profit sectors and are selected to reflect diversity in research expertise, community sectors, experience and demographics. Dr. Matthews joins her dental colleagues on the IMHA Institute Advisory Board, Dr. Alain Moreau from the faculty of dentistry (stomatology department), University of Montreal, and Dr. Jeff Dixon from the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry.
